Hi,
Recently, one of my articles was rejected for 'inappropriate word choices'. What I could pinpoint as the 'inappropriate' choices were colloquial words and expressions that were in line with the informal tone of the article. For example, I used 'buddy' instead of 'friend'.
Am I to understand that if the article sounds too informal or reads like a blog post (i.e. informal with a strong sense of 'personality'), it could be rejected? Are more formal, direct articles preferred over those with a more personal touch in them?
Informal Tone = Rejection?
