Hello,
I recently submitted an article for a public request that asked for links to be included. The article was rejected, even though I specified in the short summary that the customer asked for these links to be included. What do I do when I have been rejected for following the customer's request, and I even stated they requested the links, as CC asks, in the short summary when I submitted.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Louise,
I'm not the most experienced writer on here, but I think you did the right thing by posting your question in the forum--maybe Ed will see it. Also, if I were you, I'd email support directly.

Did you drop the "http//www."?
Here's what is says in the extended guidelines, http://www.constant-content.com/about/e ... elines.htm
Referencing Sources
We do not accept content with links or website addresses. However, if you want to reference websites, you may do so by dropping the http://www. prefix from the address and removing hyperlinks.

Re: Rejected for following customer specs
No, I left the link right in, as that was what the customer specified. It asked for links to be included right in the text. http:// was left in. Since it was a gift trends article for an online magazine, I believe the customer wants direct links to the products listed as trends. It also says in the FAQ: "Links are only permissible if the requester specifically asks for it. Make sure to add this information into the short summary so that the editor can see it." That's exactly what I did.
Re: Rejected for following customer specs
Are you positive the links were the only reason for the rejection? What did it say exactly?
Writing to Support is the right thing to do, in any case - I hope they sort it out soon for you.

Yes, that's the only reason they gave for rejection. The links. I've written to support last night. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Rejected for following customer specs
I would resubmit, again with the note (I like to offset short summary notes with a series of asterisks ******** like this **********) that the links are included by the customer's request. It's possible the reviewer saw the note and then got distracted and forgot about it, rejecting the article out of habit based on the included links. The editors are human and this is entirely possible.
