So.....thats NEW.
And rather ridiculous. You know because of log out automatically system I had to type everything in there twice, and I'm really not in the mood to do it a third time.
So frustrated I don't even understand it. Where are the freaking submission guidelines for long summaries? AND It wasn't a LONG summary, it was a 1500 word summary of a 6000 word article, which is actually less than 1/3 of the article. I can't find them. Oh, and since when do you not accept website links? How do you site a resource? You just don't? Thats a little silly, actually.
YOU KNOW, IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES, PERHAPS YOU SHOULD PUT THEM UNDER WRITER'S GUIDELINES?????????????????????????????????????????
Are there other guidelines I'm just not aware of? I click on writer guidelines and then it says get the full version here and I click on that link and this is what I get, I don't see anything mentioning long summaries in the submissions, do you? Is this hidden information I have to hunt for all over the website? I don't really have time for that.

Re: Article rejection
In the writers's guidelines, it states:
Write for internet format, which consists of single-spaced paragraphs without indentation and double spaces between paragraphs. Single space means no spaces between lines (i.e., you have pressed the enter key once). Double space refers to the act of pressing the Enter key twice and indicates a single line of space between lines of text.
This is common practice. If a customer can't easily read what is offered, he or she isn't going to purchase it. A full one third of the article is required for the long summary - or whatever you wish to call it for your particular purposes.
"Links or website addresses are not permitted except by customer request." Also in the guidelines. We have never accepted links or addresses.

My article is single spaced with double spaces in between paragraphs.
"Long summaries must be formatted for readability as specified in our guidelines."
Again, no instructions on long summaries.
This is too much frustration to deal with for this little article anyways.

Re: Article rejection
I've noticed that sometimes when copying and pasting the article into the long summary area that the spacing between paragraphs disappears and everything clumps together into one huge block of text.
This is solved by making sure the Word document uses actual hard spacing for paragraphs rather than a paragraph spacing setting such as 12 point. If you click on the Paragraph symbol in Word, you should see actual Paragraph marks between the paragraphs. If not, the spacing in Word is purely cosmetic and won't translate went converted to text on the web.
Pretend that
is the paragraph symbol in the example below:
OK:
This is paragraph one.

This is paragraph two.

This is paragraph three.

Not OK:
This is paragraph one.
This is paragraph two.
This is paragraph three.
The second example will translate into the following when copied and pasted if there is not a hard paragraph break:
This is paragraph one.
This is paragraph two.
This is paragraph three.

Re: Article rejection
OK Now I see what the problem is. I also think its because I use Vista with Office 08 on it and it causes formatting issues EVERYWHERE because its dumb. Sorry it took me so long to reply but my beloved grandfather finally went to his final resting place. I hope you guys didn't think I was mad, just soooooooooooooo CONFUSED and when I get confused because I'm a Scorpio (how's that for an excuse) I often sound like I'm ANGRY. But I wasn't.
Thanks!
Thanks!
