Hi! Just wanted to ask a quick question about my article "How To Make A Short Movie". The rejection was as follows:
==== Rejection Information for Your Article: ====
Please revise to eliminate use of the first-person POV.
I'm a little nervous about the three rejections and your out rule, so I wanted to double check on this. Do I need to only change the POV or was there anything else I needed to change as well? I'm happy to rewrite and resubmit, I just want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for rejection #2.
Thanks!

Re: Question about Article Rejection
PS - I just read a post from Sept 22nd that said the Guidelines were supposed to be changed for Blog Posts. It still says that first person is acceptable. Just a heads up.
Re: Question about Article Rejection
BozsiRose,
Ed will speak to this on Monday, I'm sure. But since I'm here anyway, this is just to ease your mind. I wouldn't worry about it. The FP pov is still in the books, so it's not your fault. If you do a search here re "first person", you'll find plenty of info about the change. The site is undergoing a number of changes apparently, and this guideline hasn't been sorted yet. I'm certain you don't need to panic, so rest easy.

Re: Question about Article Rejection
Thanks Lor. That makes me feel a lot better!
Re: Question about Article Rejection
Eh, our guidelines still say that we do not accept personal narratives.
At any rate, the three rejection limitation is for those who do not or will not improve. We understand there is a learning curve. If you can, just revise the article accordingly. The following explains why we don't accept articles written in the first-person POV:

Re: Question about Article Rejection
You're right Ed. Sorry. It says clearly "not generally accepted." Don't know where I got that idea. I think because there is still older (presumably) fp pov in the article bank, especially in humor. For some reason, in my head I was sure I read it in the guidelines. Or perhaps it was mentioned by someone. And I thought I could finally help someone. :) My bad.

Don't worry about it. I just want to make sure that it's slightly clearer than mud. Now get back to relaxing. It's still the weekend!
Re: Question about Article Rejection
Relaxing? That's a pretty word. I wonder what it means .....
