"Insufficient proofreading"?
I just had an article rejected on the basis of "insufficient proofreading." However, I'm a professional copy editor and had it proofed by two people I work with before submitting. I just looked over it and I can't find anything wrong. Does CC have a list of proofing issues that are unique/go against AP style or could the article have developed issues in translation? I'm very confused...
Re: "Insufficient proofreading"?
Usually when an article is rejected for inadequate proofreading, it means that the error should be pretty obvious. For example, a missing word, a duplicated word, a word that might be missed by spell checking software and human eyes (brought vs. bought was one I saw today, but not in your article).
Most often this occurs in the first paragraph and sometimes even in the first sentence or the first group of words. It seems to me this is the situation for this article.
Thanks,
Ed

Oh, I found it. I was missing a word... I think it got deleted when I was replacing a nearby word. Thanks!
