So, I'm new to the whole online author game. Started out at helium, about which the less said the better, got connected to this site somehow. It seems like a great site- high paying and no competition with low-quality drivel like on Helium. The one complaint that I have is that I consider myself to be mainly an author of fiction and humor, and there doesn't seem to be that much demand for that here. I went to the list of the most recent articles sold and didn't see one article in that demographic on the first page.
So, that said, anyone know of good sites like this that publish fiction and humor? I'm still going to try to publish here, of course, and won't complain if I make a sale, but I'd like a bit more exposure.

Hi! In some other threads, I've seen CC editors respond to this question, and I'm pretty sure they have said that fiction does not sell here. I also write fiction but have never used this site as a place to market it.
If you look at the Requested Content page you'll get a good idea of what buyers are seeking from CC writers. I'm sure there are online fiction sites, but frankly, I kind of doubt that fiction editors are browsing them. I've joined a few that encourage fiction, but quickly left when I saw that most of the writers were hobbyists. I've not heard of a writer selling anything through one of those sites, although I may just not be connected to the right "grapevine".
Anyway - that's my experience. If you write humor, you should check the job posting ads on the different writer's sites. I usually see ads (often blind ads though so be careful!) for humor.

fiction markets
If you want to sell fiction, it is a substantially different process than selling articles on a site like Constant Content. Any reputable fiction market has a slushpile full of unsolicited manuscripts. They have no reason to go looking for fiction. To sell a fiction piece you will have to look for a market to submit it to and submit it, individually, to each market, preferably AFTER you have read a copy of the publication. It will probably take many submissions before a piece is accepted, especially in the more prestigious publications.
If you write a specific genre of fiction, do a google search for (for example) "Science fiction market listings". That should bring up some sites with links to different markets for your work, some professional, some semi-pro, and some non-paying markets. If you write general fiction, you might try simply "fiction market listings". If you have a few dollars to spend, Writer's Market is a big book of listings for all types of writing, fiction and nonfiction. It's a great resource.
