Are forum threads automatically locked after a certain period?

Hey there, Veronica. Forum threads more than three months old are manually locked to prevent spammers from posting in old topics. You'd be amazed at what a difference it's made in the amount of cleanup admins have to do, but that's only one small part of spam prevention around here.

If an old thread strikes your fancy or doesn't have a satisfactory answer, feel free to start a new thread on the same topic. Not everyone reads stuff from back in 2005, and the same questions are often still relevant.
