payment threshold

Hi
can anyone tell me what payment threshold mean? how is it applicable to an author?

Payment threshold is the amount of $50 you have to reach before you are paid. Once you reach your payment threshold, you will be paid in the next round of payments. Remember, Constant-Content pays on the 1st of each month. If you receive payment before that time, it's a bonus.
