How do writers work with clients' own articles/documents?

If a client requests editing/revision of an article he's written, how do writers access the article in order to revise it? Does the client have to make a private request and include the article?

Probably. Customers may already have the article on a website, too, in which case, you would be directed to the URL.

If this is a situation you're in and want to know for sure, just contact support to get a definitive answer.

Thanks,

Yes, one of my clients usually points me to a URL. I've had another upload his article to a "virtual storage drive" and then give me the password to access and download the document.

Ed, I'm in a similar situation

The customer wants me to rewrite an article but can't figure out how to get it to me. I've asked him to contact support as I won't share my email address with him and get blasted for illicit contact. 8) The buyer is Mr Qwerty. Can you suggest any document upload sites or a way for him to put the article on the board through Private Request so that I can move forward with this? I've explained to him that I will rewrite the article and post it for sale at the price he offered.

Thanks.

He could copy and paste the text into his correspondence with you. Only you would see it - just as in the conversations you have been having. You could then copy and paste the text into your word processor and go from there. Unless he has specific formatting he wants preserved, this should work.
