Hi folks,
I recently came across this article: http://blog.bufferapp.com/words-and-phr ... imate-list
It contains lots of research and analysis on the best words to use in copy that converts people to a 'call to action'. I was thinking that on CC, the call to action for us is for people to buy our articles. It might, therefor, be useful to use some of the research when putting our article titles together. I have included the most relevant parts of the article below, although the whole thing is definitely worth reading.

Re: Creating Article Headlines That Sell - Research & Advice
VERY VERY useful! thanks.
I used to have a cheat sheet someplace for the 20 most moving titles but CC kept bouncing those titles back to me, it was a fill in the blanks kind of cheat sheet. i stopped using it because of all the bounce backs. but when i use them on my blogs or on online magazines, i get really good traffic to my pieces.

Re: Creating Article Headlines That Sell - Research & Advice
I've taken down and reposted three articles that have been up since April, February, and January and added in some action words to the title, summary, and first paragraph. Lets hope the editors push them through without a hitch and adding these words in makes a difference in sales.
I'm going to try something too:
1. When articles don't sell, after 60 days I will take them down and add in some of these words to the title, summary, and first paragraph to see if it pulls better interest.
2. In all new articles I will take better care to write titles, summaries, and first paragraphs to include some of these words to make them more appealing to buyers.
