Article approval order?

I am wondering if all articles are approved in the order they are posted to the site, or if it depends on the person who is approving each article?

Are writers assigned to particular admin/editors or are we all in one big queue waiting for whoever is doing approvals?

I am the only person who approves articles. I spend approx. 4 hours a day doing so. It is seldom that articles are left overnight until the next day for approval, but it does happen. Your patience is appreciated. Thanks
