Hi I'm new here and have a couple of questions. On the requested content page, what does purchase rating mean?
If the request is still posted, but it is dated a few weeks back, is it still needed?

The number indicates the number of articles the customer has bought to date at Constant Content.
The only way to get an idea if a request is still "valid" is to check the "recently sold content" category (on left of page once logged in) to see if any articles on the subject have been bought. Which request were you interested in?

Welcome to CC. The best resource to see if a request is still available is to write a message to the requester via the Q&A option. Only your questions and responses will be visible to you.
There is no guarantee your content will be purchased by the requester. In one way, this saves authors the time of proposals and marketing themselves to prospective buyers.
Once you write an article you feel will fulfill a request, and the article is approved by the editors, go back to the request and open the Q&A section once more. You can link directly to your article with the LookUp function, simply click it and it will give a list of all of your articles available for purchase.
Don't be too discouraged by the no guarantee of purchase. More often then not, popular requests for content are purchased later on by other buyers. I wrote an article on "Custom Draperies" in January, the requester never purchased the article. About 2 weeks ago, I was about to delete it and post it somewhere else but I was distracted by email. When I returned a few hours later to continue cleaning up my content area, guess what? My Custom Draperies article sold to a completely different buyer.
I've had articles sell within an hour of posting, or take up to 4 months to sell, and some are still waiting. Best way to spend your time is to just keep producing content, and keep a keen eye on quality.
