At what point do the requests go off the list? Is there a time limit or do the requesters have the option to take the request away once it's filled? Is it safe to say if the request is still open that the requester is still looking for material on that subject (even if you know they have already purchased articles on that same request)?

The requester always has the ability to close or delete the request. If the request is idle for to long we contact the requester to make sure they are still interested, if we don't hear back from them we will remove it.
