Question regarding pay

Post by Alpha90 »

Hello,

I'm a relatively new author and I sold an article for full rights about three weeks ago. I've not yet been paid, and the first week of the month(according to the FAQ, this is when pay goes out). What might be the cause of this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alpha,

First of all, congratulations on the sale.

I can think of only two reasons why the pay has not gone through.
1 ) - You did not have $5 (threshhold) in the account. (Unless you sold a full rights article for less than $10, I can't see this being correct.)

2 ) - You did not give CC the PayPal account (email details) in the Edit My Account section. Without a valid email in that section, you will not receive payment.

My suggestion is to contact Support directly and ask why you have not been paid. I have never had a problem with the payment. Support is extremely helpful and you should be able to find out what is going on soon. Good luck.

Meanwhile, keep writing and sell more articles, so you can get paid in June too.

Kind regards,

Hayley

Thanks a great deal for both the expediency of response and the thoroughness of the reply! I'll follow the steps you prescribed.

Once again, heartfelt thanks.

I've been away from CC for a couple of months, then answered a Call for Content today and sold an article. Looking over the Author Tutorial, I see mention of the threshold for payment being $50. Is this correct, and when did it begin? As recently as June I recieved payment for a $10 article. I believe the threshold used to be $5. I can't find any mention of this in the forum.

I've been contacted by Jeff Richards. Apparently there's a mistake in the Author Tutorial and it says the threshold is $50 instead of $5. Maybe a proofreader is needed.

Yeah, it used to be $50 and only recently did they reduce it to $5. Guess no one went back and made the change to earlier references.
