Questions: resume/check/opinion articles

Post by J. Dodge »

Hey, I'm new here: I just signed up today. I have some questions that maybe you can help me with.

I just graduated high school this month and will be starting college in the fall. I am wanting to write articles for Constant Content this summer before I start college. Could I consider this my job? And if so, can I put this on my resume?

When I signed up, I chose to receive my payment through check. Does that mean that when I do get payed, does an actual check get mailed to me, and I can cash it?

When writing articles, are we allowed to write opinion articles, because I was wanting to write some where I give my stance on a certain topic or issue?

Thank you, and I hope someone can answer my questions.

Hi--

I wouldn't depend upon CC for a constant income stream, especially until you feel your way around here--so considering it your job might be a bit problematic. As far as a resume, you could probably use it, but as a side-activity or skill. You don't actually work for anyone here, so you won't have any "boss," and the tax situation is completely up to you to do yourself.

To be honest, opinion articles don't do as well as well-written informative articles about a variety of subjects. My suggestion is to take a look at the top selling authors in "about the authors" and explore the articles they have for sale. These authors consistently produce well-organized, well-researched, well-explained articles about health, gardening, technology, (etc.) that do not contain errors.

As for the payment process, PayPal is really the way most authors at CC prefer to go.

Hope this helps,
Ed
