Rejected for plagiarism of my own article

Post by portia65 »

On 4 January , I posted an article on Australian red wines in response to a public request. Because I couldn't find that request when I posted the second article requested by the buyer - on Argentinean red wines - on 6 January, ( as explained in my previous query about public requests), I deleted the first article, and tried to upload it again. I then found I couldn't upload it under it's original title, Choosing Australian Red Wines, as that was already registered. So I renamed the document Enjoying Australian Red Wines and made one or two minor changes, and uploaded it with its companion, Enjoying Argentinean Red Wines.

Now I've received an email rejecting the article for plagiarims, and closing my account.

The email reads: "We have reviewed your content, "Enjoying Australian Red Wines." Unfortunately, this article requires revision before we can accept it.

==== Editorial Information for Your Article: ====

We accept only completely original content. Constant Content has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Your account has been suspended. We will consider no more of your submissions."

That initial article, Choosing Australian Red Wines was all my own work, based on quite a bit of research. Enjoying Australian Red Wines was a slightly edited version of my own work, as explained above.

Please help me sort this out and reinstate my account.

I'm sorry, but this was not the problem encountered upon article review. Your article was not found to be original, but this had nothing to do with the fact that it was previously uploaded.

Thank you,

So that's it? My account is suspended? Is there no right of appeal?

We have a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Our guidelines are clear about what constitutes plagiarism:

Using text taken directly from another source and presenting this information as your own.
Rewrites or partial rewrites of articles by other authors.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in immediate account suspension.

Submission of content that is not completely original results in account suspension. Suspended accounts cannot be reactivated.

Thank you,
Ed
