A Question About Pricing

Hello,

I just signed up for your site and have yet to submit any work. I was wondering about the pricing of my articles.

Am I allowed to change the price of my article at any time? For example, if I have priced an article at $20 and it isn't selling, can I I change the price to $10?

Also, I'm assuming that if I sell an article as "Usage Only", and it's been downloaded a few times, it becomes less desirable for future publishers? I may wish to discount the article at a certain point.

I'm just wondering how careful I ought to be with the initial price that I assign my articles.

Hi. Welcome. You can change the price of your article at any time. Go to 'my content', click on 'edit', make the change, and then 'save'.

You can also always click the "Best Offer" check box at the bottom, if you are worried about being priced too high. I am recently returning after my extended maternity leave. I have best offer on nearly all of my articles, and I have seen that for me, the style I write in and the topics I write about, I was pricing about $10-$15 more than the "hot buy" market. I am on par for articles that can sit and simmer for a few months and then sell. Then again, I had an article available for $1 and it didn't sell once!

Best Offer let's a buyer give you an offer that you can accept or refuse. I had one article get a best offer of $30, and I accepted it 5 hours after it went in. I was too slow, because in the meantime the article sold for $10 more as a unique license, to the same buyer.

Lol, you were probably psyched to get the offer, then even more so when you saw you got $10 more! I guess "never late" ISN'T always better...

Yeah it seems like there are so many considerations, it's tough to know where to start. The "How to Sell More Articles" sticky topics in the Author Exchange forum had some good info.
