I submitted an article for a public request two days ago, and it is still sitting waiting to be approved or rejected. I had a second article that I submitted last night already reviewed by this morning, but the first article is still there. I want to submit it to the request as soon as possible. Other posts say that a public request usually gets review by the next day at the latest. Is there something I can do?
Thank you,
Jeff

Hi Jeff! Did you submit the request specifically as a public request? In order for Ed to know that it is for a request, you must select "For Public Request" and then select from the drop down box which public request it was for. If your article was not submitted this way, it will be treated as a "Not for public request" submission. If you are not sure that you submitted it this way, you can delete it altogether and resubmit it. Generally, all public request articles are reviewed within at least 24-48 hours, if not earlier.

Re: My article for a request has not been reviewed yet
I've noticed reviews are not done on a strictly first in first out basis on my submissions. Frankly I wonder if Ed sometimes decides to go approve a bunch of articles that are 95% likely to pass from experienced writers while leaving the newbie articles for later. Maybe he gets tired of reading 20 navel fuzz articles in a row and takes a look at rabbit wrestling for a while. Generally Public Requests get priority if submitted as a public request though. Reading all our stuff carefully is a pretty tough job - one he does really well. So relax, and spend your time writing something new instead of worrying about the review of submitted articles.
