I am interested in using articles that have been published online but never sold. I see from a former answer that the byline must be the same to avoid plagiarism charges. Does byline refer to the pen name or the title of the article? My pen name on this site is different from that on the other site.
Thanks.

The byline is the pen name.
Re: previously published content
An article I wrote for another site and took down ie: closed my whole account recently, was considered plagiarism by CC when I submitted it. When I google the text, it comes up but the page is blank, it just has the title of my article. I have asked the site to close my account altogether. What do I do next?

I'm not sure what CC's policy is on this. You could email CC support directly and explain the problem to them. The thing is, as long as Google still has the title indexed, CC's plagiarism s/w will find it. It takes a while for a title to be deindexed, so in the meantime you may just have to wait. After the other site closes down your account completely, keep googling to check if the title is still there.
