Pricing an article

Post by angeladi »

Hi,

I'm fairly new here... and have seven accepted articles here. Yesterday an article that was priced $45 was sold, crediting my account with appx. $29.00.

My understanding is that when I quote $45.00, the client pays approximately $70 for the article. Maybe I am confused.... but how does one price an article? I may have missed it somewhere, but I am confused as to how to quote a fair price that I think earns me $0.10 per word after all the deductions of the 35% CC fee.

Any help will be appreciated.

The customer pays the price you set, and CC keeps 35% of it. You need to factor that in when you set your price.

Congrats on your first sale. You can edit the prices of your other accepted articles if you want.

JAK is correct. Here's a simple formula to make sure you get your desired price:

Desired Price after CC cut / .65 = Asking Price on CC

For example, if you want to get $45 you should price the article at $69 based on the following formula:

$45/.65= $69

Thanks friends. Makes sense now. I failed to notice the instruction at the top of the submit article page which mentions the same thing too. I did make some minor changes to my article rates now. I guess its a matter of watch and learn at times.

Anyway... thanks for pitching in. Any advice helps.
