How to get noticed and bring in the offers.

Post by johngugie »

I joined cc a few weeks ago and now have 13 movie reviews posted. So far, I've had no sales. Do movies reviews not sell well? How should I go about stirring up my sales? Two sales and I'd be happy and build some momentum. Any ideas? Like hanging out on these boards?

Hi, welcome!

A few months ago there was a request for movie reviews, book reviews, etc and they were selling like hot cakes. Hopefully he'll be back soon and will pick up your articles. Until then, try a few different types of articles so you won't be relying strictly on reviews. Take a look at the current requests and see what interests you. Keep an eye on the recently solds to see what's hot and jump on the bandwagon. Hanging out here is good too. Lots of nice people willing to lend a helping hand.

My problem is none of the requests interest me and what doesn't interest me, I can't write. I'll just post a ton of reviews, then try articles, and hope for the best. Thanks Celeste.

Many customers purchase "full rights" - they are less interested in usage rights. Maybe consider posting content original to CC?

Just write what interests you then and build your library. As new requests come in, you'll likely find you'll have articles ready to go that you can post to those requests.

In addition, since movies seems to be your interest, think of different approaches besides strictly reviews. Maybe blog entries about the ten greatest action heroes of all time, or the History of the Oscars, or tips for finding the hidden gems on DVDs, stuff like that may appeal to websites that don't necessarily do reviews.
