Ok, here comes the fun part...

His website is registered in Russia...but his IP is posting straight out of Palo Alto, CA. I sent his domain host a formal notice of copyright infringement this morning. If they don't respond, I'll send a notarized letter via certified mail and if not, I'll go meet with an attorney. You see, its not about the money, its about our rights to sell our work and not have it stolen.

In the meantime, I'm going to go track down this elusive Stas Zikov. If he's in America (and I'm fairly certain he is) then he's subject to our copyright infringement laws and a good old fashioned lawsuit. I don't care if he's only making $2 a day. That's OUR $2!

Wish me luck :)

ATTENTION:
I am going after rueterspost with every I have in the arsenal. Can you guys post, on this forum thread, every link you can find on his site that is stolen from our site? Once I get that together, I am going to call Google and speak with a rep to see if we can have this fiasco ended.

Thanks for letting me know, Ciele. I filed with adsense and with blogger.

This article of mine was stolen:

Here's the link to mine, David:
http://www.reuterspost.com/2010/01/coun ... ersPost%29

You'll see it's based off a Feedburner feed if that helps at all. Looks like he's created a feed and use it to populate his site.

Thanks for going after the guy.

I have not found any of my work there yet (my stuff is not worth stealing LOL) but every article I checked was from Constant Content. I think I looked up 6 there and here.

David

Here's the link to my article at the site:

http://www.reuterspost.com/2009/10/blog-post_16.html

Here's where it's at on CC:

I've filed a complaint as suggested.

Kind regards

Thanks for the advice, Celeste, but yep, my article is still deleted from his site - maybe my email to Stas Zikov was a little more strongly worded than I thought :D You'd think Google would have shut the site down by now - they are listed as the OSP, so it should be their responsibility. And I 100% agree with you that content theft needs to start making headlines. How ironic is that - an issue that effects writers isn't being written about in the mainstream media.

CieleEdward - he could be anywhere in the world. From what I've found, his IP is Google, and I believe anyone in the world can use their services. If you do track him down, though, and his info doesn't match what is listed under a WhoIs search, then you can report him for submitting false info to his service provider or domain registrar. It might be enough to get his site shut down for good.

I'm sure linking to the exact articles is beneficial, but everything on Reuterspost is stolen from us. Granted, roughly 10% of the articles don't pop up in a CC search, but I'm willing to bet that's because the full rights for those articles have already been purchased by buyers who didn't do a search to make sure the content wasn't posted elsewhere. Sadly, all Reuterspost is is Constant-Content for free.

David, its extremely reassuring to know that you're on the case fighting these guys. Thank you. :)

Hi everyone,

This guy has one of my stolen articles (thanks for the heads up, Ciele!) as noted below:

On CC:
http://www.constant-content.com/MoreDet ... eaders.htm

On Reuterspost:
http://www.reuterspost.com/2010/02/char ... iness.html

I have filled out a DMCA to Google, and noted that this is the second incidence of copyright theft perpetuated by this site.

Love how everyone is banding together, led by fearless Ciele, to stop this guy... he gets my goat! (and my articles, but that's another story...)

Good news guys!!

My email to the admin of Reuterspost worked. He removed my articles from the website today. His email is mortgageguidebook@yahoo.com. Let him know, in no uncertain terms, that you are willing to report the unauthorized use of your work to his domain host and Google. The more strongly worded, the better. Don't bother giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Good luck everyone!

Ciele, good work! That's what I did a few months back when he stole one of mine, and he hasn't reposted it since, so you should be in the clear.

The bad news is, he will continue to steal content until his site is shut down. And once it's shut down, he will create a new site where he will continue to steal content. It's like that mythical monster - I can't for the life of me remember its name - that grows two heads when you cut off one.

I agree. He KNOWS what he's doing is wrong. If he didn't know before, he knows now. The right thing for him to do is not just remove the content from people who contact him, but all of it. By only removing the content of those who call him out and not all of it, he's losing his right to claim he doesn't know any better. Now he knows, so he has a choice: remove the content or face consequences.

Took your advice and sent a very strongly worded email to Reuterspost, fingers crossed he takes the articles down.

The Hydra. If I remember right, it grew multiple heads for every one that was cut off. Let's hope that doesn't happen!
