How shoulld I handle this?

Post by wdadkins »

Hi

I have a number of articles that I would like to post for usage (these are articles on Helium.com, so I can't remove them).

As I understand the rules, this would be OK (as long as they are only offered for usage). Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

My concern is that I don't want to run afoul of copyscape. There's no ownership /ethical issue--this is strictly my own work. But I'm not sure how to proceed--or if Constant Content would be okay with this.

Added note: my penname here is wdadkins, on Helium it is W D Adkins, so the two don't match.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

PS--I'm NOT going to start wholesale submissions, I promise. But some of the articles are marketable.

Hi W D, I am also from Helium and have pondered the same ideas as you. Welcome!

I am no expert, but according to ED's words found here:

You are correct. As long as you only post it for usage, you should be fine. I would just add a note about the pen name before submitting. It seems to me there was a spot you could enter this information in when you signed up. I would have to check my profile page and get back to you.

Now that I know I'm not the only one contemplating this, I might try one or two of my favorite pieces here as well. It's such a shame to see that hard work make 5 cents a day....

Good Luck!

The pen names are really the same name, so it's obvious that it's the same person submitting both to CC and to Helium.

If the pen name is drastically different, then a note in the short summary is necessary and appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks, Ed. I'll probably submit a coupe of these later this week. I'll put a note in the short summary just to be on the safe side (something like "Article posted on one other website under pen name W D Adkins).

That should cover t, I think. If not, please let me know.

One final detail: can/should I edit the short summary and remove the note once the article is accepted?

Thanks again,
Bill

You can edit the short summary if you choose. When you ask usage rights only for articles, this is an indication to customers that the article may have been published elsewhere.

Thanks,
