Really wierd

Post by Angie H »

Hi,

When I opened my email this morning, I received two emails from CC. One had the subject line "public request" and the other says "private" request. When I log in here, it does indeed show that I have a new private request with a new message. Here's the problem: I can't find the message! I click on the Q&A section of the request and it says that there is no message on the thread.

I went back to the email and the first line says "you have a new public request."

Now I'm confused as to whether it is a public or private request.

Thank you in advance for your help

Err . . . yeah. There have been some problems with the private requests going out as public. If it says Private, it probably is . . . but most cases it will be for another author. If you don't see any messages, it isn't for you. I don't know what's going on with this, even though Support knows it's happening. Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you Ed,

I just didn't want to start writing the articles and sending them in if it wasn't for me. Not that I wouldn't mind the work!

Is it Party Favors by chance?

I received a private request for this topic but I'm almost thinking it's a public request as I'm unfamiliar with the requester....I'm approaching it as a Private Request for now but after that Lingerie for Men request that went to everyone privately, I have an inkling that this may be a mistake...

Hi Celeste

Yes it is...I was thinking the exact same thing as you, but I didn't want to bring it up. I know that CC is working really hard on the bugs. I was actually thinking of doing the same thing as you, but then I was concerned that it was a private request for someone else and was worried about getting into someone's business. What really threw me off was the red triangle that says new message waiting and yet there isn't one.

On the bright side, I'm glad that CC is still getting lots of business and they are keeping my life interesting lol.

Thank goodness for the forum. I received the same private request and needed to know if it was really meant to be a public request. Glad to hear others received this so I don't spend a lot of time writing articles thinking it is for me. Do we know for sure that everyone received this? Maybe it only went out to a few authors?? Thanks.

It is still showing up in my list of private requests. I don't know? I wrote back as I always do when I receive a private request saying I'd get started right away. Now I'm torn as I have other projects that really need my attention. If this really were private to me, of course, I would get it done as well as my other work. But as a public request, I would normally let someone else have a shot.

Also, it looks like this request is dated 6-30 and the info.com request is from 6-27. Both landed in my email box today (July 2).

I have both requests (lingerie and party favors) still under private request as well. I'll check back again later, but I might still write one or two just in case.

I wouldn't bother with lingerie. This article request was filled ages ago, yet I'm still getting submissions for it from people who thought it was for a private request.

Thanks Ed! I've been so swamped the last while, I haven't been able to keep up with what's selling and what is still open.

Ok, I just wrote one. Since it's obviously open to everyone, that's all I'm going to do unless the customer specifically tells me to continue or I see that no one is helping this customer out. Back to my other projects I go! I hope this customer gets plenty of articles and that we can figure out why this keeps happening.

Hi! I too have the magic, red exclamation of a potential private request for party favors and lingerie. I knew they weren't for me and have ignored them. Just adding this to let you know the quirk seems to be widespread!

To Ed and fellow writers: I have received additional instructions to write for the party favor request. I am not sure if anyone else is also being considered. Just thought I would let you know that I have received feedback to my queries. WG
