Making Money with CC

Hello, I just signed up on this site, and would like to know how exactly does one generate income? If I understand correctly, you write an article, post it, set a price, and then wait for someone to buy it? Is it possible to republish my articles here that were published elsewhere? Thanks for some feedback. Yael
