Request for Ongoing Content - strategy help

I am new to Constant Content, and I want to respond to a public request for content that is seeking someone to blog for 30 days. I know from looking through other forum topics that normally I would simply write an article, submit it attached to a question for the content requester once it is approved by the admins, and try to sell it otherwise if that specific customer doesn't pick it up.
However, 30 days seems like a significant commitment of time and effort without knowing whether or not they will accept the content or even like the idea for the common thread. I also worry that something like a blog with brief entries will have limited appeal if not for this particular client.
What would be the best approach? Would you suggest that I write the first few days of content, and submit that as a representative sample? Should I then be able to feel relatively confident that acceptance of those first 3 entries means that the client wants the remaining 27 days-worth, for example?
