question about acceptance

I have been away from the site for about 2 months.
I found an article i had written was bid on 9th dec., i accepted it on the 21st. Maybe I'm being too hasty, but I thought that once the author accepts the offer, the article is sold. However I haven't recieved a reply yet. Can someone please tell me how much time it usually takes for a deal to come through? And what is the process for this 'best offer' feature?
Thank You

As I understand it (and I've not had a best offer yet) the process goes like this:

1. Author lists an article with the Best Offer option
2. Interested Buyer sees article and makes an offer.
3. Author accepts or rejects the buyer's offer
4. Buyer gets a message stating that the Author accepted the offer.
5. Buyer CAN come back to CC and buy the article if they still want it - either at the accepted price or full price if the offer was rejected by the author.

I would expect most buyers would move on after a few days so accepting an old offer may not lead to a sale. Hope that helps.

I believe sometimes buyers want an article immediately, or soon, and if their offer is not accepted right way, they will go away and find something else to use instead. Emails from CC sometimes take a while to get through as well. I've lost a few sales through being slow to respond. So it is important to check your offers on the site regularly.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to give an update, which will probably help others with the same question in the future. My article was bought. The user who had bid on it, actually had a public request on a different topic going at the time. So I came to know that she had already bought 5 articles from CC. I guess you have a greater chance of getting your article sold, even if you are late on the acceptance, if the bidder is a regular buyer. Thanks to all who replied, I'll be regular on the site in the future, so that I don't have to wrangle with such dilemmas again.

I think every article I've written for a 0 purchase rating buyer has gone unsold and the buyer has remained a 0 even though I have seen other excellent articles for sale for the same request. It seems odd that none of the articles would be what the buyer wanted, but who knows? I hope buyers would edit their requests or post updates or post new requests if what they are being offered doesn't match what they need. Maybe they are finding what they want elsewhere.
