Why is article shown as "waiting"?

I have an article that is shown as "waiting" in my Contents section. Does this mean there is an offer? I checked my Received Offers and there is no sign of it...I am confused. There is an new offer in there (won't go into that lovely surprise) but it is not the same article and that article has no "waiting" by it in the Contents page. Can anyone explain please?

I've had articles stuck in waiting and had to notify support.

Me too. There was a thread some time ago about limiting the amount of time an article can stay in someone's cart, but I don't think anything happened with that.

Hiya, I'm a CC newbie from England . I've got two articles for public requests which have been 'waiting' for over four days now. As the subject matter is rather niche I think it's unlikely that, should I put them back in the public pool, they will sell in the future.

My question is, is it considered against CC etiquette to send a polite reminder to the seller after, say, a week of an article being left in waiting limbo?

Thanks for your time,

JK LLewthor

I wouldn't. First of all, waiting often means that the article has been purchased with an "echeck" and CC is waiting for the funds to make it from one bank account to another. So, it's entirely possible that the customer has purchased the content and the transaction is in the works. Occasionally, "waiting" means the articles are in a customer's shopping cart. The customer could be placing articles in his cart as they come in with the intention of purchasing them all at once in the next day or so. I'd give it a little more time and then contact CC about the status if the articles never clear. CC can let you know if a check is pending or if the article is languishing in a shopping cart.

Thanks for the advice - I'll let it drop for a couple days and then maybe contact support.

I stumbled accross an interview you did online a few days ago, about your freelancing success. Was very impressive.

Thanks again,

JKL

Maybe the interview with Celeste was on my blog :) That interview gets a lot of visits and yes, Celeste rocks!

Obscure stuff sells here. My first sale was on how to use nutritional yeast. It went on an ecommerce website with my byline.
