Two questions:

I am thinking of writing some how-to articles concerning MS Excel and perhaps MS Access. For such articles, embedded screen shots are very helpful to readers. Are these allowed by CC? If so, are there any restrictions I should be aware of? I am using Word.

Also, I recently submitted an article (it is currently under review, no response as yet) that contained a bulleted list with paragraphs indented underneath. It is a Word document, of course. For the Content Excerpt, this formatting looked awkward. I understand that formatting is generally discouraged, but I don't see how to show a bulleted list without at least this much formatting. Should I expect a rejection? What can you tell me about formatting restrictions? I don't see anything about this in the Writer's Guidelines.

? Professional formatting that follow our guidelines is encouraged and required. Spaces must appear between paragraphs, and our guidelines specify required font type and size. Authors are encouraged to format their long summaries accordingly because this field does not automatically format text.

Please do not include more than one or two screen shots in your article if you feel they are necessary. Articles with no images are preferred.

My understanding is basically the same as David's -- I think he meant formatting beyond the required font, point size, and spacing. That is, I thought things like bullet lists, special indents, etc. were discouraged because the formatting might not be preserved on the buyer's end. So I always use simple numbering or line spacing to indicate lists and such.

Is that incorrect? Are bullet lists, etc. okay in the submitted document?
