Where the article is published?

I have a question: I just sold an article. I can see who bought the article, but is there a way to see where it ends up at?

I've been wondering the same thing. I have no answers. I've tried googling parts of my article that sold but it hasn't shown up anywhere.

Yeah, Googling is the main way to find your content. (Hint: use quotation marks around your phrases when you enter the search term). However, if the customer uses the content in ezines, print newsletters, ebooks, or in a "no robots" area of the website, you may never find it.

What Celeste says if very true. Finding the articles can also be easier depending on the type of license they sold for. I can find most of my articles which sold for usage or unique rights, but I've only found one or two of the full rights articles I've sold over the past couple of years. To be honest, it's kind of pointless to look for those (even though it's a huge boost for the ego). You can use the usage and unique articles published in a "writer's portfolio" of your work, but not the ones sold for full rights.

I've given up searching for the ones I sold for full rights. When I last did that, I found it on around 20 differrent article sites against several different authors. However I usually search for those sold for usage, to try and check if the customer complied with the rights. I recently found one at http://ukvisitguide.com/?s=Liverpool, along with at least one other similarly purchased from here. I contacted support and Jeff wrote back to say he was going to contact the customer. Doesn't seem to have made a difference yet though. Anyone who has written about anywhere in the UK may want to check the site for their work. I don't spend too much time or energy on this though. Life's too short.

You could try just googling your name. Always gives me a lift when I find the ones that have used my byline.

I figured if I sold one for full rights, it'd be gone for ever. (Well not totally gone, I do keep a copy of everything I write.) I didn't know if CC allowed the authors to know or not.

Googling my name? Hmmm...... I shall try that!

Thanks for the replies, I shall see if I can find the one I sold. I'm about to put up a bunch of articles for review... I am excited. The promise of this site is great, you know? The main problem is just forcing myself to be a disciplined writer, heh.
