Hi Ed,
It's me again. I'm working on an aritcle for the Basic Grammar Review request. The requestor has asked for samples so I am using samples from my own college essays. Do I need to add quotation marks around these samples? Do I need to make a notation where they come from? Would it be plagaizing myself if I didn't? Is it necessary to add my own name in parenthesis? I'm not sure how to correctly format these samples.
Maybe the easiest thing to do would be to just write new ones.
Thanks for your input.

I would just make them indented paragraphs to set them off from the rest of the text. Or, if they're short, you could italicize them.
I don't think you have to worry about plagiarizing yourself. You could just say, "The samples used in this article are taken from the author's own work/my own work/ a college student's work with permission from the author."
