New Member - Can't Upload Articles After First 3 Uploads

Hello everyone. I just joined Constant Comment last night and after setting up my account I uploaded 3 articles without a problem. I understand that these are in a queue to be reviewed and that that process may take several days.

This morning I returned to the CC site to upload a few more articles. I logged in successfully and can see from the "Account Status" page that my three articles are under review, but I could not upload additional articles. I've hit the "Submit Article" button, but I don't get the upload page I saw just last night - just a blank page.

Is this a glitch in the system or is there some rule limiting the number of articles I can have under review? I was hoping to upload a few each day for about a week.

Thanks in advance for your help.

- Ian

I'm not sure, but maybe it's because you've only just joined and your first three articles haven't been reviewed yet. CC have a "three strikes and you're out" rule...if they reject 3 of your articles in a row, they will disable your account. I'm guessing that they want to review the quality of your first three articles before allowing you to submit more.

Of course, I could be completely wrong...and it may just be a glitch after all.

There used to be a rule that new authors could only submit up to three articles to begin with, so perhaps that is still the case. But don't start worrying about the three strikes rule just yet. You won't be suspended without good reason, such as plagiarism or obvious difficulties with the English language, and allowances are made for those who look as though they'll come up to scratch once they have become fully familiar with the site. Sometimes rejections of articles are just because they don't comply with site formatting guidelines, or small errors that have slipped through. In that case you will be allowed to amend and resubmit. At the beginning, it's best really to submit one article at a time and wait to hear if they've got through before submitting again. And make sure you proof read thoroughly, getting help with this where possible. CC is about quality content and editors are stricter than on most other sites.

Ian,

I'm a newbie, too. I've found a few glitches in the system and it took me a week (or longer) for the site to allow me onto the forum. I'm not sure about the answer to your question but once one of my articles was accepted I had no problem uploading four more.

You might have to wait until you have an article that has passed review. I'm not sure this is the answer but it would be consistent with my experience. One the other hand, there were definitely some technical and editing lags that may have affected your uploads. I would try uploading more articles after your first one is reviewed.

You need an accept before you can upload more than 3 articles. Then they raise the cap, and after more accepts there is no cap. It basically prevents spam.
