Private Request Submissions

Hi, I've been away from CC for awhile, but have had a previous customer contact me for a series of articles. I'm now bumping around the site, trying to refresh my memory on submitting articles, but can't find the one tidbit - more than likely a forum note - about private requests that I really need.

So here goes: if I make a note on the submission form for editors that I am following the customer's private request for the article (format, images, multiple links, etc.) will it go through the review as is or do I need to re-format for CC standards?

Sincerely,
Mary

Usually if you put "For a private request / links by request" or something like that to alert the editors, it's not a problem. Welcome back!

On the writing submission FAQ there is a statement that PDF file formats are accepted, but not preferred, for the CC upload process. My client wanted the document in pdf but when I went to submission page, the directions stated only .DOC, .RFT, and .TXT formats were accepted.

So, a suggestion to the CC folks in charge of maintaining the FAQ page: you may want to delete that paragraph about PDFs.

Otherwise, everything was easy peasy.

This same customer has asked me to write a series of articles for him, but his initial private request "tag" has expired. When I uploaded the second article in the series, I put it under "Private Request", but now I wonder how the system will know to notify him that it is ready.

I plan to send him a note when the article has gone through the approval process, but I wondered if there was a more efficient way.

Any ideas?
Mary

Yeah, you'll have to send him a link manually via the messaging system.
