Rookie Question

I've pored over the forum and FAQ and either missed this, or the info's not there.
How does one become eligible to apply for the Writer's pool?

After you've had ten articles approved, you can apply. It takes quite a while to be approved, I think. (I'm awaiting approval on two, and have heard it can take a couple months.) I had trouble with the site letting me click the "Apply" button, and a brief e-mail to support resolved the issue the same day.
