What makes an order stay in an "order being processed-unpaid" status for a long time?

we are waiting for payment... We contact them and if we don't hear from them we will remove the order.

If a person does not pay and you remove the order, does the writer have to resubmit the piece or does it automatically go back up for sale?

It will remain for sale.
