Things to Write About

Okay, I'm new. I've never even heard of this place until just today, so please forgive my ignorance  . Also, I've tried to find just EXACTLY what kind of work we're supposed to post, and I'm not real clear I understand everything...

I enjoy writing fiction mostly, like a little serial. Can this type of work be posted? Or is it mostly non-fiction, self-help, advice, etc.?

Also, I thought somewhere that CC will allow already published work, as long as we have the copyright...Am I understanding that correctly? :?:

Thanks for any help and answers! :)

Our customer base is generally seeking well-written, informative content to be used on websites. Fiction and poetry do not generally sell, and we actually prefer content that offers useful information, well-researched points of view, or explanatory tips and how-to's. If you look at the types of articles that the top selling authors are writing, you can get a better idea of the content that CC seeks.

I was wondering if poetry or short fiction sold myself. I did submit one poem which is still under review. I just have to let everyone know of my epic battle with the Serpent of Midgard.

We do not accept poetry or fiction, as per our guidelines.

Really? They're listed in the sub-categories. Articles, General, Poetry or Short Stories.

It's good to find that out now before wasting huge amounts of both of our time and energy because I missed that one line in the Writer's Guidelines.

*Fiction or poetry will not be considered unless by specific customer request. Personal narratives are generally not considered.

They used to be allowed and you may still find a few fictional articles or poetry items posted from back when they were allowed. That's why you see the categories.

I'll stick to satire when I want to beat the ol' funny bone then.

Thanks...
