Question about the Review Process

Hi Guys,

I am very new to Constant Content, and I submitted my very first article a couple of days ago. I received the following in my email this evening.

==== Editorial Information for Your Article: ====

self-sustaining is hyphenated.

==== End Editorial Information for Your Article ====

Given that self-sustaining, minus the hyphen, was used toward the end of my article, do I need to make any other changes before resubmitting? It was a simple typo, and every other instance of the word contained the proper hyphen. I am more than happy to make the change. Is this common on this site? Do editors here make no direct corrections? Many of the other sites I work with simply apply the corrections. I'm just trying to get a feel for this site and how it works.

Thanks in advance for any input and information!

At CC, writers are expected to self-edit and submit error-free articles (although CC recognizes everyone is human and the odd error is inevitable, hence the opportunity to correct and resubmit). Editors at CC don't make corrections. If they find an error, the article will be returned.

If an error has been found in the article and it is returned, the editor may not have read it all the way through. It is always best to thoroughly proof-read articles for re-submission. Don't just make the one change and assume that it is the only error.

Hope this helps!
Lynne

Yup, you have to make the changes yourself. I got an article rejected last night that said "check for double spaces between words."

Somehow I had created a double space that Word didn't catch (it finally did when I copied and pasted the article into a fresh document). I went a little crazy scanning the article for any more of these spaces though, because the editor hadn't mentioned if there was only one, or several. After not finding any more I resubmitted and it was accepted about 2 minutes later!

So resubmit and good luck! :D
