Rejection Question

Hi, I am new, and just had my first article rejected because of improper formatting. It was a silly mistake and I have reread the submission guidelines to ensure I have understood all of the rules for submission. The only reason listed for rejecting the article was for improper formatting, would they describe all possible reasons to reject my submission in that first rejection letter? Is it possible I will find that I have other mistakes that may cause a rejection with the next submission?

Any help on this would be helpful, thanks.

Hi Natalie, and welcome!

It's not unusual for the editors to immediately reject an article if it's submitted in the wrong format, so any other errors won't be mentioned in the e-mail. The best thing for you would be to double-check your article in order to avoid a second rejection.

You should always assume that the editors stopped looking at it as soon as they spotted the first error - and formatting errors are usually noticed before they read anything.
