Can Customers Purchase Articles Still in Review?

Hi.

I've been a new author here since August 14th. So far I've written seven articles, and have had only two of those articles accepted. It's been ten days, but I'm still waiting for the other five to be reviewed, and two of those five are for public requests. It's taking much longer than two to three days for my articles to be reviewed; as a matter of fact, it takes at least five to seven days before my articles are reviewed and accepted.

As I said before, two of those articles are for public requests, and those have not been accepted yet, but are still in review. I'd like to know if a customer can still purchase those articles even though they have not been accepted? I ask this question because one of those articles has had hits on it.

So far I'm enjoying writing the articles, but waiting so long for my articles to get through the reviews is rather frustrating as I expected the review process to take only two to three days.

Thanks for all your help.

Cindy

Welcome to CC! The review process has been much slower over the last couple of months - I've had some articles, including those for public requests, take 5-6 days to be reviewed. It used to be a bit faster before. A customer can't see your article if it's still in review, but he will be notified that you submitted one to his request. A hit is counted even if you click on your own article, so that's probably what you're seeing.
The review times can be frustrating, but for me that's about the only real issue here. There's no other site that I know of where quality work is appreciated to this extent, so hang in there. I'd advise you to forget about how many articles are in your queue and just keep writing and submitting. While some clients don't like to wait too long and buy the first one that's submitted, many wait as long as they know that there's more to come.

I also started with CC at about the same time, and have two related question. Once an article for a public request is approved, I understand the requestor has exclusive rights to it for 3 days before it is released to the general catalog. In the experience of writers who have been with CC for a while, do clients often purchase an article after the 3 days have elapsed? Do they ever purchase an article submitted for a request after their request has expired? Thanks for any thoughts -- just getting a feel for the whole process.

First off, though the official exclusivity period is 3 days, it actually is more like 7. Secondly, many clients wait for a few days before making a purchase since the review process can take a while. Some buyers like to wait for all submissions to come in before selecting the best one/s, even if some articles are released to the general pool or the request has expired. I've had one article I wrote for a request sold to the original client after about a month!
