Have Not Received Client's Request

Hello All,

I've submitted this question directly to C-C, but since I've never had to contact them before I'm not certain as to how long a reply takes and I've decided to share here in the hopes of gaining insight, as well.

Yesterday, a client inquired about my availability to work on a request. After learning that I am available, he sent a second message informing me that he'd submitted an official request for two articles through C-C's system. He's asked that I reply to let him know what my rate will be and whether or not I can complete the articles within the requested time frame. The problem is that I've yet to receive the request from C-C and cannot respond to his questions until I do. Is this delay standard?

I noticed that the timestamp on my C-C inbox says that the message was posted at 12:34a, but I wasn't notified by personal email until 8:34a. I realize that my priority should always be to check messages on the site and not rely on personal emails notifying me of messages here (and I have no problem doing so), but this isn't the first time that I've noticed a significant delay between the two and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the same.

Thanks!

Feel free to chime in on your experiences, but I'm just updating to say that I received the request shortly after posting here. :)

I believe that CC manually approves requests just as they do with articles, so there's often a delay between when the client says a request was made and when it appears in your list of requests.

Thank you, Celeste, that makes sense. I was a bit concerned when I received his message as I was anxious to reply to him. Thankfully, it was quickly resolved and I'll keep this in mind next time.
