If I post a previously published article for usage rights, is it acceptable to add something like "originally published on Suite101.com" to the byline?

I don't see any reason why not. Go for it.

I have a question regarding articles published on sites like Helium. Their user agreement only states that you can never assign exclusive rights to the content submitted there. Does that mean it can be posted here with a usage liscense?

Thank you Ed. I hate to think of my work, which took me more than twenty minutes to put together, languishing over there for a few pennies a year (if that).

As you read this, I'm copying some of my articles and reviews off Helium. Some need work, but it'll be worth it to see them somewhere else.
