Lost in the pile?

Hi,

I submitted an article last night and one this morning. The one I submitted this morning has already been reviewed and accepted but the one from last night has not been responded to. Wonder why, lost in the mix?

Curious,
Julie

No, it has not been lost. I was concentrating on the articles for the "collection" request this morning.

Thanks,
Ed

Ed- I subbed an article about 3 or 4 days ago. Does your answer mean that the article was accidently deleted or that you all haven't gotten to that topic yet?

Please be patient, Writers. I'm working on my own write now until the new editor comes on board.

Thanks,
Ed

That much editing boggles the mind...well my mind at least. ;)

I hope they get some help for you soon, Ed. That has to be more than a little overtime for you. We all appreciate your hard work!

The new editor will be coming on board within the next couple of days. Just to give you guys and gals an idea of the volume of articles we face . . . I had 60 new submissions overnight.

Yesterday, I reviewed about 60 articles, and that hardly made a dent in the article queue.

Can I handle it? 8) Sure!

Not easy being green

Oh yet another sign of my greeness at this site! Don't laugh, but I assumed that Ed was short for editor. And I assumed there were many editors behind the scene and that it could be any of the group who log in and post as Ed. Now I realize that Ed is one person. And I gather that Ed is the ONLY editor right now.

Yes, patience is in order!!!

Wow! I vow to never be impatient again.

confirmation

I'm waiting for confirmation from a veteran here . . . hope I'm not spreading misinformation =)

I suppose regardless of how many editors there are out there, one or several or many, they are to be commended and we should give them our patience. Quite a job to edit the hefty stacks they face and with such quick turnaround!

I'm sure I speak for all of us hopefuls when I say thanks for helping us run after our writing successes at CC!!

There is only one Ed. If you thought there was more than one of us, I am either doing something right or sound like I have multiple personalities.

We work under a tight budget, under a tight schedule, and within tight straight jackets.

Ed-
I'm sorry if I came across as impatient. That wasn't my intent. I know you have a large workload. I just wanted to know if I should re-submit since it appeared to me that articles submitted after mine were already going through the approval process. I assumed I had messed up the upload somewhere along the way. Thanks for working through the article queue as quickly as you do.

Hi Mary,

No worries. My plea was a general one. Sorry if I came off as being short . . . I am having a bit of a difficult time keeping everything straight right now. I thought I was doing writers a favor by getting to requests first, but with only me reviewing articles, I think it's just become problematic.

Just so you know, articles really don't get lost or deleted. If they show up in your account waiting to be reviewed, they are there. I am trying to review everything within the 3 day period.

Thanks,
Ed

I almost feel bad subbing stuff right now! I picture Ed hunched over his computer, eyes bloodshot, 23 empty coffee cups littering the desk...

I hope you get help soon. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. :)
