Does a Word doc have to be put into Notepad to be acceptable for CC?
And is submitting in 14 pt a no-no?

I use MS Word - not notepad. However, I do have Word 2007 which has a new format that hasn't been widely adopted so I save in the .doc format for Word 2000-2003 - not a problem.
14 point might be a little too big. I generally use a 12 point Times New Roman. 12 point seems to be the preferred size. Don't want to go too big or too small..........

I use MSWord XP, 12pt as stipulated in the Submission Guidelines and then save it as .rtf, rich text format, this is the file format that was listed as the prefered one in the guidelines. There should be no reason to mess around with Notepad, unless this is also your wordprocessor.
Good luck

I use the works word processor. It automatically tries to save everything as a .wps, but CC won't take that format, so I have to find how to save my work as a .doc file. Consequentially, some of my work winds up as .wps.doc
