Under the requested contracts some customers have a number in parenthesis next to their usernames, and Im not really finding anything related to it in any of the FAQ's.

That number is the number of purchases the customer has made. A customer with (1000) is one who has been using CC frequently while one with (0) is one who is new to the site or hasn't yet made a purchase.
