Requested article/word count is a little short

Hi-

If there is a request for a 600 word article, but you've written one and it's only 525 words - can you still submit it to the requestor? I'm afraid the quality will suffer if any fluff is added to equal the exact word count.

I'd appreciate any insight into this.

Thank you

If a customer is asking for 600, then 600 should be what they get. It depends on their standards I suspect.

I agree with csjwilkinson, but by the same token, I think a quality article that is shorter is better than a long article which consists of useless words and phrases ('filler' as I like to call it). If it's a good article the requester may will snap it up.

Assuming that it's an article that's already in your catalogue, I would send it, along with a note to the customer. Something along the lines of "I realize that this article is a bit shorter than what you're looking for, but I read your request and thought that it might fit your needs despite the length."
