Rejected Article

Yesterday I submitted an article here. Today I received an email stating that my article could no longer be reviewed and that I should not resubmit it. The reason was it was not in one of the acceptable formats. Since rtf is one of the formats CC does accept, I'm wondering if I can resubmit the article in that form if I change the title. They said that upon submission my article was purged from the system.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

usually that means there is just something about it they don't like. Like the article is just beyond repair without rewriting it. If you're new, I would let it go and wouldn't push them.

I agree. Even before I read what lysis said I was about to comment that I assume "format" to mean the structure/style of your article. I realize the wording is confusing but I think that if they were referring to FILE format they would have told you to submit in the correct format instead of asking you not to submit it again.

Was the wording exactly that "it is not one of the acceptable formats" or just that the format wasn't acceptable? Because "not one of" certainly makes it seem like the file format is being referred to, but if it was just a comment about format I'd wager that its your article itself

They have asked you to submit the article in one of the accepted file formats. I believe when they said not to resubmit that article, it was specifically because of the file format. Resubmit it in rtf and I believe it will be fine. Of course they can always kick it back for a specific error, but this is obviously due to the file format.

oh ooops, yeah. File format rejections are the easiest and sting less. :D

Maybe someone hit the wrong button or I just skip over that part too much and read the reason. My bad. But for future reference, if they say "don't resubmit" and it's for a long list of vague reasons (wordiness, structure, etc) then you probably want to leave it alone.
