Problem with Inline Comments

Post by philipanderson »

Hi - I note that somebody raised a similar problem in an earlier post without any answer, but I wanted to see whether other people are having the same problem as me.

I have an article where I can only see one inline comment, when the editor has said there are two.

1. In IE, the comment stays in a fixed position on the screen, even when the text in the submission box moves. So if I scroll up or down, I can't see any other comments.

2. In Firefox, the text in the submission box is obliterated and the inline comment is also fixed per point 1.

I've asked the editor to put the second comment in the Editorial comments box so that I can fix it in the meantime, but I am not sure if this is something that other people are seeing.

Thanks

It seems like the inline comments only work at all about half of the time.

Try this: click the "edit" link on the article you need to edit cuz rejection. :)

Then, click "Refresh" on your browser.

This worked for me when the content editor wasn't working.

I have found that if you place your cursor on the first comment and then press the tab key, you will be able to see the second comment. It's usually not next to the right piece of text though so it can be confusing if the editor is asking you to remove a specific comma, as often I have no idea where the error is :/

My inline comments are not showing up at all, so its leaving me very confused with rejections that say "see inline comments" and there is NOTHING there. So, I keep notes on other rejection notes and go by them. Now when I recieve a rejection I look first for their notes and then edit for all other mistakes I've made in the past, to avoid future rejections.
