What is the difference between an article and a blog entry?

I've looked at examples but don't know whether the dividing line is length or something else.

Length sometimes, but generally the tone is different. If you look at blogs online you will see they are more conversational in tone and may be written in the first person. Some blog entries are shorter, but not always.^^
