Buyer disappeared?

Hi all, from a newbie
I have a question - I had two articles which 'sold' (brief histories of scrapbooking and decoupage), I presume for the Crafts request made - they were pending payment for a few days and are now back to having nothing pending.
Do you know if the buyer changed their mind, or did they just not come back to pay and therefore the articles have automatically been released again?

Yes--that was a bit of a bummer for me too. Thought I sold a beading article, but then it was a no-go and I'm curious as to why too. Did they change their mind, not pay, are they still interested. This happened once before to me and I think its rare, but I was wondering if I should still keep working on the craft topic or call it a day. --J

Ah, glad it wasn't just me then! I was really chuffed as they were my first articles on here, well, I signed up with another but they were written straight afterwards...you get what I mean.
I was also wondering whether to write any more for them.

Some times a buyer adds items to his or her cart and leaves never finishing the transaction. at they point it is in limbo for a day or two until we email the customer and eventually delete it, if we get no response.

I see. Very rude of them too, getting our hopes up thinking we've sold something!
Does this kind of thing happen often?

Its not rude... most of them do not know leaving it in the cart without finishing the order does this. Also we don't send the "Article sold" email until the order actually happens, so unless your constantly looking at your licenses sold you wouldn't even notice.
With that said it doesn't happen often.

I should have "smilied" my post I think, it wasn't meant in spite!
I understand the process of not finishing the transaction and so on. Though if they've requested content and gone through the process of shopping for it, it's a little off to then forget about it and not respond to your emails. If you see what I mean. I'm not trying to make a fuss. It's more voicing my disappointment after seeing the articles being apparently sold and then finding they weren't.
Just another little query about the process...does adding to the cart allow them to read the full article rather than just the part we choose to display, or do they have to wait until they've purchased it?

As a buyer, I know it can be a problem that if I log in, add an item to the cart and get distracted, that when I go back and add another item to the cart, it forgets that I'm logged in (the cookie seems to only pass thru 2 concurrent brower loads, but if you open a 3rd one between 2 logged in browsers, you are logged out again - if that makes sense). If I am adding articles and suddenly I'm logged out, I usually go on and do something else.
If an article appears to be bought if I come back in an hour or so, I do not assume it'll be available again. So, if it does tie up an article for a while, that can be a problem on both sides.
