Newbie question about public request content

Hi all,

I chose to address two public requests yesterday, that were closing today (1 day after it said). I submitted the content, including links as per spec, that was around 8 hours back. They were in the review line. I login now to find both my articles have disappeared, but there is no rejection notification from CC for either of them. I check my inbox here, I check my e-mail, and there's nothing. So, I guess my question is, were my articles rejected or not? What should I do now? :(

If they aren't in your list of content, then they've been purged and the email is lost somewhere. I would check spam folders and sometimes CC emails go to "Promotions" in gmail.

Sometimes, I don't get CC emails. If the jobs are expired, you can't do much about it anyway. I would review the article and edit for the open pool and resubmit it.

All editorial feedback should show up on the Notifications page in your account. You should also get an email sent to you, so Lysis' advice would be good to look into as well.

I checked all e-mail, spam, junk, other folders etc, and also notifications here. It seems I probably submitted the article too late, and it didn't manage to reach an editor before the request expired. However, I would have liked an e-mail or notification saying "the request to which you submitted the article has expired" or something like that, instead of just deleting my articles without a single explanation why. Or "the requester has rejected your submission" or anything. I don't see why I have to go forum crawling to ask such questions, to be frank. Anyway, yes, I resubmitted both articles for public.

You usually do get notification. There was probably a technical error. It happens.

I would have an easier time accepting it as an error, if it regarded a single article, but two... well.

Well, if email server is blowing up, it makes sense that multiple emails wouldn't go through.

Fair enough, but it still begs the question of how I'm supposed to guess that there's been a mail server blow out and the notification e-mails didn't get through. :) In any case, I've resubmitted them, although I still do't know what happened with the request I posted for. I suppose I never will.

Yeah, it's happened to me. It might not even be a CC issue. It can be your provider too. Some providers will drop emails if the sender sends too many at once. There's a lot of factors at play, and email is not very reliable. I've lost messages a few times from people contacting me privately.

If you rely on CC or want to be more active here, my suggestion is to log in like twice a day and check your inbox. I say that as someone who doesn't do that. :D But, I think it's good if you use the site regularly.

As I said, I checked both here and all my e-mails. I've got several to be on the safe side. If there was a notification sent, it wouldn't had fallen between the cracks from my end. There wasn't. No matter.
